Installation
OpenFreeNet is a private VPN service. There are two parts to getting online:
- Create an account on the user portal and download your subscription.
- Install a compatible client on each device you want to protect.
This page covers step 2. Account creation is in Quickstart.
Choose a client
Section titled “Choose a client”OpenFreeNet uses WireGuard-grade encryption. Any standard WireGuard client works, and so do the popular rule-based clients (Clash, sing-box, Surge).
| Client | Best for | Platforms |
|---|---|---|
| WireGuard official app | Simplicity, lowest overhead | iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, Linux |
| Clash / mihomo | Rule-based routing, split tunneling | Windows, macOS, Linux, Android (Meta) |
| sing-box | Modern rule sets, low memory | iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux |
| Surge | macOS / iOS power users | macOS, iOS |
Pick one. You can always add another client later.
